You can watch VideoCD, SVCD, DVD, 3ivx, FLI, and even DivX movies too (and you don't need the avifile library at all!). Another big feature of mplayer is the wide range of supported output drivers. It works with X11, Xv, DGA, OpenGL, SVGAlib, fbdev, AAlib, but you can use SDL the_darkhorse13 02-07-2003, 03:30 AM mplayer as mentioned above... its worked on every type of media file that i have (Divx and Mpeg). If you have Mandrake, you can get an rpm if you prefer that at http://plf.zarb.org They have an easy tool for urpmi. Just a reminder that if you're going to be using the latest Quicktime, Realplayer, or MS Media Player files, don't forget to download the extra codecs! -alex justlinux.com
