I am running RH7.3 with SIDE RAID 100 (IDE). The server boots up ok, and sees the disk. I've managed to formated the individual disk and set the type to "Linux Raid Autodetect". Here's the output from fdisk:

"Disk /dev/hdh: 16 heads, 63 sectors, 39870 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1008 * 512 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hdh1 1 39870 20094448+ fd Linux raid autodetect

Disk /dev/hdf: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 2501 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hdf1 1 2501 20089251 fd Linux raid autodetect".

But how do I configured this as hardware raid (raid-0)? From what I know, if you stripe the disk via an application (e.g lvm) then it's software and if it's done through card(some sort of controller) then it's hardware. Excuse my ignorant on hardware and software raid. I am fairly new to the arena. TIA.

Go to your RAID chip manufacturer website and download their module(driver), if any. For example, www.promise.com

Then read up on RAID and LINUX on www.google.com
