I'm wanting to set up an internet server running linux with a dail up modem.
how would i go about making a script that can be run from a windows computer that:
tells the linux server to dial into my isp then broadcasts a message to all computers on the network to tell them that the servers is now connected to the net.
and possibly another script that when someone trys to dissconect the server it broadcasts a message to all the computers on the network asking if anyone wishes to keep the connection open and then times out if no response is dectected within a certain time frame.
all my terminals run windows except one and the server.
