I installed Mandrake 7.2 onto a dual processor box yesterday along with a 3com 900B 10/100 NIC. For some reason, my switch is recognizing the card as 10BT rather than 100BT. I have used this NIC in Windows boxes previously and all have registered as 100BT. Do I have to do anything in particular to get the NIC to run at 100BT?

I believe the hardware is what decides the speed. You just have to make sure you have the right driver installed. I'd check the cable between the switch and card. If you dual boot with Windows, does it run at 100 mbps in Windows?
That was my theory as well, but it doesn't appear to be the case. I don't have a dual boot on that box, but I pulled the NIC from another Windows box where it ran 100BT no problem...
Ugh. There is definitely something seriously wrong with the networking setup on the Drake box. I am currently transferring files from one computer to the other at .546KBps. Yes, you read that right. Something is definitely wrong here...
Ah well, I think I'm going to dump Mandrake, anyway. Don't really care for it. Gonna go RH6.2 or Debian most likely...
