Any ideas? d23 09-27-2001, 02:37 PM Try deleting the linux partition using the linux installer (either boot disk or cd or whatnot) which should have a partition manager for use during the install process. Use it to get rid of linux partitions - it created 'em, it can destroy 'em. Then exit from the installer or just reboot and start creating partitions using FDISK. The version of FDISK you're using probably doesn't know what a Linux partition is. Dark Ninja 09-27-2001, 03:16 PM Not advisable to install Linux first and then Windows. Windows does not like it one little bit. Do Windows, then Linux. Works perfect every time. (Perfect being a relative term.) Dark Ninja MaxWave 09-27-2001, 05:43 PM Boot from a Win98 boot disk. type fdisk /mbr run fdisk and delete linux partition. create a fat/fat32 partition, format it and install Windows. Then you can install Linux. nojava4u 09-28-2001, 01:06 PM First of all, thanks for the suggestions!! I used the 98 boot disk to get to a prompt. tried fdisk /mbr then ran fdisk It stalled on delete partition, and create partition. I've tried it several different times, different ways to no avail.
