I installed linux 7, no problem, tested it and am ready to install Windows again. I cant delete the partition using fdisk, I tried some other 3rd party vendor software, but no luck. Any ideas?

Try deleting the linux partition using the linux installer (either boot disk or cd or whatnot) which should have a partition manager for use during the install process. Use it to get rid of linux partitions - it created 'em, it can destroy 'em. Then exit from the installer or just reboot and start creating partitions using FDISK. The version of FDISK you're using probably doesn't know what a Linux partition is.

Not advisable to install Linux first and then Windows. Windows does not like it one little bit. Do Windows, then Linux. Works perfect every time. (Perfect being a relative term.)

Boot from a Win98 boot disk. type
fdisk /mbr
run fdisk and delete linux partition. create a fat/fat32 partition, format it and install Windows. Then you can install Linux.

First of all, thanks for the suggestions!!
I used the 98 boot disk to get to a prompt. tried fdisk /mbr then ran fdisk
It stalled on delete partition, and create partition. I've tried it several different times, different ways to no avail. HELP!!
