I have installed Red hat linux 7.1. Every thing is ok except for LAN connection.I configured every thing right ( by netcfg). But it's not connected to our lan. There is no IRQ clash. The adapter is Realtek RTL 8139 (a) PCI fast. It is also recongnized by it.But when I say "ifconfig", it's giving following message

"eth0 abnormal interrupt status 00000002

Does anybody have any idea how I can get it connected to our lan. I use P-III/750, 30 GB (15 for linux),128 MB SDRAM, Realtek adapter.

Bye ;)

Hi,
thanx for your suggestion.I checked my mail just now.I checked /etc/modules.conf.It's right as far as I know as Kernel 2.4 recognizes Realtek series Realtek(no)too.

But other things I try.One more problem, eh0 is not showing at bootup although i have set it for bootup.

Hi!!
Me again :D . I ran both rmmod rt8139too and modprobe rt8139too. But it says that there is no such module and it can't be loaded. So again I did netcfg (from console) and I have configured properly and I activated. In the console, two messages appeared

SIOCDELRT:No such proces
SIOCADDRT:Network unrachable

But while shutting down, it is showing "shutting down interface eth0".

Can you tell me where I am mistaken?

Previously, I used have RHL 7.1 on my comp. That time, it was recognized well and due to some reasons, I had to reformat the disk and load RHL 7.1.This time,it's not woking
