I am looking for a Database that can interface with Apache and PHP for Linux. I want to create Active Server Pages type of applications. PHP uses more like a C language than a VBScript language.
MySQL was reconmended by a Linux User Group, but I want to know if there is a better one out there. I am not going to pay thousands for Oracle or something else as I am trying to keep costs down. I just have a 28K BPS Linux 2.X server with Apache 1.3 and will be installing PHP on it and need a database to hook into so I can have online applications I can develop in.
