We turned on IP Aliasing, and set up ppp0:1 as the IP address that the ISP assigned to our domain name. The problem is that the ISP runs BSDI Unix and doesn't know how to route through a PPP device. We have a static IP for the ppp0 device and can run a web server on that IP and hostname fine, but the second hostname needs a different IP and the ISP doesn't know how to route through the main IP. Since we cannot modify their system, we are at their mercy.
How do you do this? Has anyone done it? The Domain Name works fine on the local Ethernet based Intranet, but not to users on the Internet through the ppp0 connection. So we must have our local server set up properly.
