Batch Printing Software?

Sometimes i need to print out lots of separate PDF,DOC, etc files.

Is there a simple GUI software to automate everything (via drag n drop for instance from KDE). Searched on Freshmeat but couldn't find any...

Write a script yourself?

Could you create a shortcut on the desktop for the printer device and then drag a drop files to be printed on the shortcut? Not sure it that is possible.
