This isn't a question - I hope it's not inappropriate, Mr. Moderator. If this belongs in /dev/random, let me know and I'll move it.
I see so many messages complaining that documentation, even the NHF, is above the beginner's head - and I concur. I don't think many first time Linux installs are flawless. That is, most users come out of the install needing to fix, tweak, adjust and configure. That leaves precious little time to get accustomed to the conventions and quirks of their new OS. Getting an NHF that tells you to edit .config isn't much help when you don't know what .config is or where to find it or how to open it, much less how to edit it. So, I'm always on the look out for good basic help pages that are written in plain English. I found a great one today!

If you lack even basic Linux understanding or if you fear the command line and can't do anything unless there's a GUI tool, I urge you to check out this page. I, personally, found the section on Linux filesystem and directories to be the most helpful general Linux information I've read to date.
I don't know who made this page and I have no affiliation with it. I just thought some of you out there might find it helpful.
