I have been tired of "Do.." sound of KDE system bell. Does anybody know how to change it to play a different sound file?
Thanks.

do you want to change the system bell sound? or the sounds KDE makes when a system event happens eg kde is shutting down?

Sorry for the unclearance of the previous reply. I want to change the sound of the terminal bell in KDE, not to disable it. Thanks for your attention.

I am not sure that is possible, but I would take a look in the kde control center if you are using kde & look under the sound section, then system Notification settings then select the kde window manager & go though each of the window options & see if there is one related to the terminal, I didn't see one myself I am running redhat 8.0 with kde 3.03. You can change the bell pitch but I am not sure about the actual sound

Mine is in the KDE Control Center under Sound/System Bell.

Bell Settings...

Use System Bell instead of System Notifications
