does any one know how to make redhat 8 faster on my laptop? any suggestions? Some steps that may have to follow? Any text online? Also anyone knows were perhaps can I find drivers for 9000 radeon mobility?
Chears!
start by disabling all the extra stuff that redhat loads by default. ftp server, etc
it's under the Hat Menu under "Server" i believe.

my own personal opinion is that the rh kernel needs to be recompiled with just the stuff compiled into it you need for your particular hardware and put the hardware stuff it uses periodically like nic card etc in as modules...rather than compiled in
redhat has made the kernel able to run every peice of hardware known to humankind -- you got to lean that sucker down a little...
and it will run alot better
also if you can do x without some modules like true type fonts or aa that will help too..
the xfonts are better than they used to be

I agree with the previous replies, disable services at startup and compile your own kernel from source with just the stuff that you need
