Hi all!
Haven't posted for a long time, but I have a question:
When I use my floppy disk to boot to Linux (Mandrake 7.2, but had this on every distro/version I ever tried), it takes forever to boot. I get the prompt that says...
boot:
Loading Linux....
Then those little periods appear, about one per minute, which means it takes 20 MINUTES until it stops making little periods and actually starts to load Linux.
This seems a little unreasonable to me. Does anyone know why it takes so long to load, and if there is a way to speed it up. Let's assume for the sake of this discussion that loading LILO on the hard drive is not an option...
Thanks!
