Alright guys, I really need some statistics/opinions on this.
1. How much better is DDR SDRAM than SDRAM
2. Should I get:
- DDR SDRAM PC266/2100 128MB: $289
or
- SDRAM PC133 256MB: $129
Btw... Canadian money :)
Thanx a lot guys... or girls ;)

I'd say PC133 for now,DDR is nice but it is so new and not mature yet.BTW,for the price of 128mb ddr you'd get 512mb of pc133 and that would be better investement in my opinion.Check crucial's (http://www.crucial.com/webpromo) website for some good deals on regular sdram and ddr when using this link and free shipping...

Just to be sure, your motherboard supports DDR right?
I'd go with regular, ddr hasn't shown itsself to provide enough gain for the price, to me at least.

Who's pep?
Depends on whether or not you're trendy. If you're trendy, you'll go out and buy the newest, untested thing. If you don't feel like blowing $250 today, go with 512M PC133...512 never hurt anyone :D

I am getting a whole new system anyway therefore... I will get a new motherboard and everything else. I was just wondering if I should get DDR or SDRAM with that. And how much better is DDR SDRAM than SDRAM?
Thanx for the replys

IMO stick<pun intended :D > with sdram for now. If you go to pricewatch.com you can get generic 256 mb pc133 sticks for  $41 american  . To get a new mobo and ram and possibly a processor isn't worth the minimal performance gain. It's a new tech and will surely mature fast and the price will drop.

From what I understand, only some AMD Athlon chips benefit from the DDR RAM. It's a cheaper alternative than Intel's P4 RAMBUS, but I'd say go with the 133 for the time being, until either DDR or RAMBUS settle down a bit.

about 4-15% faster (the 4% is if you have a 4 dimms of PC133 and interleaving truned on in the bios, DDR can be interleaved also which should achive simular bandwith increases).

None of the above, try this (http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?model=GA-7DX&x=17&y=3) link, PC2100 128MB for $60 US, that the way to go IMO.
