Ok, I installed Redhad 7.1, and installed lilo on the MBR (probably a mistake.) Anyway, now when the lilo menu comes up, it has my 2 choices - linux, or windows 2k. linux boots up fine, but when I choose windows, it says "loading windows" and hangs there.

I could always reformat, but I don't want to. Any suggestions on how to go about fixing this and keeping both my partitions intact (or at the very least, my Windows one since it's got all my stuff on it!)

I thought the name of the system you want to boot to has to be one word. EX: windows 2k would not be valid.

Could that be your problem?

Also, check /etc/lilo.conf to make sure that you have lilo pointing to the correct drive of where Windows is located on.

Never used Win2K. But if you want, you can try formatting the MBR and installing LILO on your Linux partition and booting from there instead.

I have the windows partition named simply "Windows" so that's not the problem. I'll check out editing lilo.conf. It's just that I'm new to this so I wanted to avoid doing something like that right off the bat. Oh well :(
