gnomeConf.sh Please,,,,

Ok, I am not really new to linux, but i have tried long and hard to sort this and had no luck..

Whenever i goto to ./configure a program, i get the error:

code:checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no
checking for gnome-config... no
checking for gnomeConf.sh file in /usr/local/lib... not found
configure: error: Could not find the gnomeConf.sh file that is generated by gnome-libs install

Now, the thing i find strange is that i have ALL packages installed from the SuSE CDs,,,, Any body got any bright ideas?

'libgnome-dev' is what you are lacking.

I have looked everywhere and I can't find it...

Just thought I would add this link. It appears that your problem is related to Ximian aka Helix gnome. Maybe if you sift through some of the information it will help.
