Mountainman 03-06-2001, 11:45 AM As far as what? How do we get a transparent Xterm window? You need a program called Eterm or a newer one called Aterm. How do we change the desktop background? Its under display setting I think. slayer17 03-06-2001, 01:35 PM Download Eterm. There are themes for it one that is good is called glass. The transparent backgorund is achieved by a drop menu or by typing Eterm -t trans. Either way will work, for beginners start with eterm 8.* it is a lot easier. freaker 03-06-2001, 02:27 PM for my trans Eterm, I give this command >Eterm -O -W --borderless --menubar=no --scrollbar=no that will refresh itself to the desktop if moved, make it transparent, no borders, no menubar, and no scrollbar If you are running Gnome, you must run Esetroot first, and set the bg for Eterm >Esetroot /path/to/currentwallpaper/foo.jpg then run the Eterm command, that should do it for you freaker  [ 06 March 2001: Message edited by: freaker ] justlinux.com
