Hi all!

I've got the following stuff....

RH 8.0 server
WinXP client (for political reasons) with X-Win.....

Ethernet Lan with layers 2 switch....

I've installed RH8 without fw functions, because I've got a dedicated fw. So it should be basically open ?!?!

When I try to connect with X-Win 32 to the server ip it says that connection is refused.

Do I miss some services that should be enabled in RH8 for a remote X session ?

Anyone who have done this, please help...

Thank you for your time

Have you issued the command:
xhost +<remote_client_name> from the Linux boxxen yet?

If this is for remote administration have you considered installing webmin on the linux box?

I thought that the x service would start immediatelly upon linux boot, when I've got a GUI login.... And that x automagically would listen on eth0 also. I guess I've missunderstod that.

So basically, where do I put the xhost command, so that it starts automagically upon boot. And is ip-number the best option to identify XP client ? I use static ip's.

Webmin, I'm not familiar with that software.... I'll do a google search....

Thanks
