I've been using Windows recently mainly because Dreamweaver MX has an awesome HTML IDE that makes writing the HTML a LOT faster. It's kind of hard to explain what it does, but basically this little menu comes up while you type, and it tries to predict what you're about to type, and by hitting tab or enter every now and then, you can make massive tags with lots of options in just a few keystrokes. It does a few other cool things but I'm sure someone here has used it who would be able to tell me if there is something comparable for Linux. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are a few editors for html out there and I have a list of them at home in a mag, linux format i think, but I can;t think of any off the top of my head. If you could wait a few hours when I get home I could post the names of all of them and links where to get them.

You can even run Dreamweaver MX under wine (you can search for how to configure this over at http://frankscorner.org/wine/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=36&page=1)
You'll also find the answer to your question if you search the forums for the word Dreamweaver.

andy,

KDE's Quanta Plus program does this.

Or you can use Dreamweaver MX with wine.

Depends on which is better for you, really. So I say try both those options.

andysimmons, if you've already dished out $99, might as well use it under Linux. I know it's great to support Linux-based programs such as Quanta and Bluefish, but if you've already paid for it, why not use it? Check my above post to see how you can run DreamWeaverMX under Linux.
