Start X in 16 bit?

I have a game that will only run in 16 bit. I have X configured most of the time at 32 bit. Is there a way to only start in 16 bit when I want to play the game?

Since you didn't specify what version of X it is,here it goes:for xfree 3.3.6 it is startx --bpp 16 and for xfree 4.0/1/2 it should be startx -depth 16.Hope this helps.
