Help with Sound

I have just reinstalled Mandrake 7.2 for a few reasons... mainly cause I am trying to learn what things do and I fscked something... no big deal though that is why this is a test box.. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif anyway I am wondering why after reinstalling my sound works with everything but GAMES.. i have only tested it with Gltron and Tuxracer games but it did not work with either of those but it works with everything else such as KDE2 startup sound plays and XMMS plays mp3s just fine.. any suggestions??? thanks in advance...
