I'm running Storm Hail.

I recently upgraded from RH. In RH I could use the mouse to copy and paste. I could do this in X and from the command line. I would use the left mouse button to hi-lite which would copy it. Then when I got to where I wanted to paste, I would simply click on my Intellimouse's wheel. Voila!

Since I installed Hail I have not been able to figure out how to re-enable that.

I have seen people talk about changing XF86Config, but since the copy/paste functionality was operational under the CLI, I have doubts about that approach!

Any ideas?!

TIA!

Try making sure gpm (console mouse server) is functional. As root, type 'gpmconfig' and it should walk you thru a little ditty of choosing what type your mouse is (imps2), etc. In straight Debian this usually gets done during initial install if you chose a task that required gpm. For me, though, this usually means I have to go back and re-do my X config, and then I have to get xf86setup and xserver-vga16 and their dependencies, and then run XF86Setup.
