i started using the message filters in the mozilla browser and it works great.
often, when i get junk mail the 'From:' field is empty. i was wondering if anybody knew how to filter out e-mails that have an empty 'From:' field.
thanks.;)

Assuming the from field in the header is simply blank you might just use the Sender is combination and leave the field to the right of that blank.

If you can look in the full header of one of the emails and find out how they did the from field it might help. ex. if they place something like so:
from: "" <ilovespam@somepoordomain.com>
It might trick Mozilla Mail to display it as blank but they did have something in the from field. If so the Sender is combination will not work.

You might care to use a more robust method of spam filtering. http://spamassassin.org/ seems to do a great job in labeling incoming spam so that you can filter it easily. My Webhost has it as an option and depending upon your POP3 server's nature they might install it for you.

Good luck

thanks.:p

i'll try using the Junk Mail controls and see if that helps. it would be nice to block email by domain too.

You can block email by domain: use the Sender contains combination and just place in the domain you care to block.
