Hi All,
i hv RH 7.2 box. its has one network card. It was working perfectly for more than a year. i used this machine for proxy (squid, squidguard), dhcp and also as my media server (Shoutcast). every thing was going fine. today i moved 1 GB media files from my NT box to this box and all of sudden after copying more than 900 MB my network failed. i do hv enough free space df -h shows more than 400 MB left. ifconfig shows no error and it shows the cards IP address properly i.e. 192.168.1.2. route print looks ok..default route is to my gateway.
when i try to ping my gateway from this machine it says host not found and 100% packet loss. from this machine i am unable to ping any machine on my network.
tail /var/log.messages doesnt show anything abnormal. i did restarted my network just to try whether it makes any difference. i also rebooted my machine....still no luck...
did a search on goolge ..still no help..
its a 3Com card and module loaded is 3c59x.
