How to play half life on Linux

I am a total linux noob and want to play half life on mandrake 8...

Can I use my windows half life...? ( i do not want to use a windows emulator)

or do I need a linux version of half life?

someone explain this and where to get everything ill need for playing this.

You have to use wine to play half life on Linux. Wine is an implementation of the windows api, it's not an emulator.
