Hey all,

I would greatly appreciate any information anyone has on this subject.

At The Moment:
#############################
An ADSL Router goes to a 16-Port 10/100 switch. The switch then goes to Hubs (and PC's) and then in turn to all the client computers.

What I would like:
#############################
I would like to be able to place a linux box in between the LAN and the ADSL. The reasons are for security, caching and (MOST IMPORTANTLY) somehow stopping certain things from being downloaded (mainly over http).

I will set up a transparent proxy using ipchains or iptables to redirect port 80 requests coming on from the LAN to another port (proxy) (I'll work it out somehow).

The reason your reading this:
#############################
The thing I really want is the software that can sit somewhere in this equation and "weed" the requests of users (maybe MIME related eg. videos etc.) stopping massive downloads.

Any information would be really helpful.

Thankyou.
