i just got a printer in return for doing a repair job. YAY!
it's a HP Deskjet 850C
i'm using the recomended driver (recomendde both by mandrake and linuxprinting.org)
i am only having 1 or 2 problems

when i print something before what i sent to print comes out it feeds out 1 page saying:
"@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE=PCL3GUI" (no quotes)
 i beleve it has something to do with the driver, thats all i know

and then what i wanted to print comes out (slightly wonkey as if it don't know i'm using british A4, thats the other problem but i think i can fix that, it is either the printer of the linux drivers and settings)

and i was gonna try and get the "printer on fire" message for a laugh (i'm looking up how to get that now :D )

anyone know how to get rid of the "front cover" page i'm getting?

I believe that message has been changed in the kernel and no longer exists.

it's in the new 2.4.20 kernel, i checked

(i'm using 2.4.19-16mdk, (i don't wanna risk f*cking an upgrade up)

anyway any way to save me a sheet of paper and some ink to remove the "front cover"
