Well, my campaign to wean my kids off Windows has nearly succeeded. I ordered Mandrake 8.1 Gaming Edition from LinuxEmporium yesterday afternoon. It arrived at 9-30 am this morning - amazing. My kids are now playing on the Sims, I'm uninstalling the Windows version, and the cost was just £32 all in. Very impressive.

Ah, The Sims.. such a great game..

You can make 3+ females all fall in love with each other, kiss, hop in bed, etc... , get married, then bring a male in and have him marry all the other three, and all get nude & hop in the hottub for quite the exciting house ;)

Theres also many more demented situations... Great for kids!! :D

6 months ago I finally gave up all hope of getting a useable (foe php website development) windows pc and switched to Mandrake 8.1 gaming. I paid the extra for the gaming and didn't buy Red Hat or MD8.2 so the hundreds of pounds spent on PC games would not be wasted. So what happened?

The Sims id code is rejected!

I ask Mandrake - they say it's transgaming's problem. So I ask Transgaming - they ignore me.

Are all Linux vendors as committed to customer service as this or am I just lucky?

If by id code you mean the reg key, You could do this (may be a little taboo for some of you kiddies) is go find a pireted reg key.
