When i start Linux mandrake installation from the cd, it stalls while running through my hardware during initialization. the last line I see is "ide2 at 0xb000-0xb007, oxb402 on irq 11" it hangs after that. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gif

Im running a quantum 20.5 hd and an ibm 13.5 hd of my hpt-66 controller on my abit bp6. what is the problem? Im thinking it might be the hdd ata 66 controller but I thought Linux mandrake 7.2 was supposed to work with it. Could it be a bad download? I downloaded iso and put it on cd.

help will be greatly appreciated

I have it installed on 2 computers one with ATA-100 controler (30 Gig ata100 Drive) an other with ATA-66 Controler (20 Gig Ata66 Drive) no problem what so ever http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif

did you check www.linux-mandrake.com (http://www.linux-mandrake.com,) , the faq there could help!

Bad Download? Always a possibility.

Good Luck!
