I currently have one WD 30 G HDD in my system w/XP Pro on it (NTFS) and Bootmagic installed on a 50MB FAT partition. I also have a new Maxtor 60 G HDD (not out of the box yet).

I am considering either installing RH 8.0 on the same drive using partition magic 8/Bootmagic to dual boot, or....installing the 60 G HDD and installing RH 8.0 on it, along with other partitions for XP & RH 8.0 (with XP still on the 30 G HDD all by itself. Both XP & RH 8 would be on different physical drives.

Would either of these setups work better or the second one not at all possible?

Its a matter of personal preference. Some people prefer to install on a seperate HD but it will work just as well on the same drive. For sharing data between linux and XP create FAT32 partitions.

As far as duel boot goes I don't have any experience with XP. Check the website cause there are lots of posts on the subject. Some poeple have had problems with Partition Magic too.
