I just upgraded my Kernel from 2.2.14 to 2.2.19. Everything seems to work o.k. except my NIC fails on boot up. How do I troubleshoot this?

(btw, make sure if you're using modules, that you're using the right one, and check to see if it requires any parameters) [ 14 August 2001: Message edited by: optech ] woodyak 08-14-2001, 05:35 PM The card is a 3-com using "3c59x". The card works just fine with other kernels. I compiled the kernel myself using the config file from the old kernel rev. I did use modules. This is the first time I have done any kind of kernel work. I'm surprised it worked as well as it did. Can I fix the NIC w/o having to recompile the kernel? bdg1983 08-14-2001, 06:31 PM You'll have to redo the kernel again. Make sure you pay close attention to the Networking and Network Device sections and select the correct module for your 3Com ethernet card. justlinux.com
