I finally got smart and hooked up to http://www.wurd.com/eng/setup/dialers/linux_kppp.htm a auser file from AT&T. Under KDE, iget to kpppconfig where it wants a modem device, specifically /dev/cua0-3. Only one problem, my US Robotics56K Fax/modem is ported to com5 in Win98!! IRQ 9 i/o ec00-ec07. My /dev/ file shows only /dev/cua0-3 so when I connect to AT&T it asks for user/pw and then the daemon disconnects! Maybe this is a WIN98 problem, since my com 1 port has IRQ 4 I/O 03F8-03FF, at 115200 bps, 8N1, and hdwFC, just what I need. Do I go into add/remove hdw and see if I can reconfigure it somehow? I tried this, but I couldn't get it away from com5!! :D

hello,
looks like you have a pre kernel 2.2 if you serial devices in kernel 2.0.X had the cua# - kernel 2.2.X and up have ttyS# for the seral ports. I am also gussing you have PCI modem, do you have a specific model for the modem?

Ahh - I just checked out the link you sent. link. If you can tell me what distribution you are using and its version this would be helpful.

BTW the traffic sucks in Waconda along 176 there. But you guys had a nice fireworks show this year :)
