System: PII-400, RedHat8.0

I currently have the updated HPIJS (1.3) and HPOJ (0.9) "drivers" installed, as well as the updated printer.c.

This is a USB printer (purchased by my parents as a gift... what are they trying to do to me?!).

The system sees the printer, and I managed to have it spit a blank page at me using a 'cat text.txt > dev/usb/lp0' with some trouble, but I cannot configure it properly using the 'System Settings --> Printing' system. The printer is not listed in the HP driver section of the printqueue driver setup. Should the Photosmart 7350 be listed if the drivers are installed properly? Or, is there an alternate driver that the PS7350 will cooperate with?

I don't think any printer name will show up in any application. Welcome to Linux! :)

The kernel and modules see it, but KDE, Gnome, *Office don't. Just direct the printer output to lpr.

I tried printing a test page from printconfig-gui, but only "An error occurred..." window popped up. I tried this using a number of drivers, as I saw that the DJ990c was compatible with this printer.

Will installing of the latest foomatic (2.0.2) install the necessary driver to the printconfig?

I tried it on the system I have at work (2.4.18-14), downloaded, and the printer is listed. I have the purchased Red Hat 8.0 (2.4.18-14) at home, and they seem to be quite different.
