what is a good linux OS for a pentium mmx 166megaherz

2 gig hard drive 128 ram??:)

I would say any version that's i386 or higher. You may have to compile the kernel to use your type of cpu for better performance also.

And you probably won't want to use something intensive for a desktop, like KDE or Gnome. Stick to the simple window managers, like Blackbox/Fluxbox, twm (if you can stand it), ones like that.

You won't be able to use an i686 distro, so be aware of that. I believe Mandrake is i586 by default (which is the Pentium classic), so that would work if you want to. Debian would definitely work, as it's i386 by default. Don't know about others.
