im on mandrake 7.2 and i was trying to get on irc.
well the server i try to connect to requires identd, so i searched on rpmdrake for identd and this thing called pident comes up. so i try to install it, but mandrake cant find it on either of the two cd's. so, where can i download it from?

I dont use Mandrake anymore but the last time I checked out MD7.2 it installs with a inentd script fireing up at bootup.Chech your /etc/rc.d/rc3.d-rc5.d folders for something like Sxxinetd or Sxxauth or something like that.I know they start inetd at bootup.

To me, there's some confusion as to what you're even asking about: Inetd, or Identd. These are two seperate applications, spelled very similar to each other.
Please make sure you include the complete and exact error message?
