OK - have Red Hat 7.2 installed (as server). I am just trying to get one machine (W98) to see the other (the Linux one). Can ping 192.168.0.1 and 2 successfully. What's the next step? No internet connection is to be used, just a home network.
When I go to open the network on the Linux box it says Host unreachable.
What settings are needed in the network section?
How do I make a common workgroup?
I can open smb.conf but cannot edit it.
Help please.
