Before compiling the 2.4.0 kernel I was using kernel 2.2.16 which came with Slackware 7.1. Now I have compiled the kernel image and restarting was alrite.
However, I'm unable to get on the network. It seems as tho my kernel tries to load my PCMCIA ethernet card (Xircom), however fails to do so. It says that

module /lib/modules/2.4.0/pcmcia/memory_cs.o not available.

Anyone know how to fix this? Furthermore I want to ask whether I need to reconfigure my /etc/rc.d files with the new kernel. This is because when I do the command "lsmod" there are no modules loaded.
thanks.
