Thanks Josh FoBoT 02-16-2001, 06:17 PM if it has nothing on it you need to save, then just nuke it! :D in other words, if it is newer, so that you can boot from the cdrom drive, just put your cdrom with the distro of your choice in and booter up go through the install, and hopefully if the installer catches all your hardware, you will be in busyness :) if you want to save anything on that nt box, then the situation gets complicated Molecule Man 02-16-2001, 06:55 PM If you are looking at converting a server and switch service to a linux machine well, we need more specifics. If there is something specific you might try checking the How to's (http://www.linuxdocs.org) or the NHF's (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf) for how to do it. Somethings like Samba have whole books dedicated to the subject. Also read the manuals for the Distro fo choice, and know your hardware. I know NT does not have as nice of tools as other versions of Windows for checking on Hardware, but it does have some. Use them before you wipe it. justlinux.com
