I installed Red Hat 8.0.
I was having all sorts of problems. K3b burning appy didnt work, ut2003 is slow. The whole system was actually kinda sluggish. Mp3's wouldn't play without downloading support for xmms and other apps.
Anyways... I decided to say the hell with red hat, and install a real OS, so i downloaded the slackware_current directory off of slackware.com's ftp site, Made an iso. Installed 9.0 beta, and now not only did i actually learn from this whole experience, but my computer actually runs, is stable, and k3b works.
(Yes i realize this can be done with Red Hat as well, but its soo much easier to just install slackware.)
My point is.. if you want a fast, reliable, secure os. Slackware is there.
