I am DBA and using oracle on NT4+2000 and want to learn Linux to use oracle on Linux. What to do or any links?

Why not just partition the drive and dual boot nt w/ linux? This will allow you to learn and expirement with linux, without losing that which you are familiar with. Especially if you rely on that machine for work or something.
as far as what to do, my recommendation would be
1. Make sure all important data is backed up prior to attempting any changes to the drive.
2. Make sure to have adequate documentaion for your chosen distribution, to help guide you through partitioning,etc. Most retail versions of the distros come with decent manuals.

I am totally new to Linux so I will ask help from u people. I will try it but before doing any thing I am seeking some basic info.
