I have a keyboard problem. Accented keys. I can input them when I'm in vim, cat, jed, any X app, etc. But I can't do them on bash. I need to be able to do them. Does anyone have any suggestion. I looked at www.linux-quebec.org (http://www.linux-quebec.org) on their mailing list, and nothing has worked. Man pages don't talk about accents whatsoever. Please guys, save me and you'll get 600 camels!!

xmodmap couldn't do what you need? You might look into that if you haven't tried it already. I'm prety sure that is what it was for but I haven't ever really messed with it myself. If that works could I have some money instead of all the camels, my apartment is kind of small.

No way dude. If you don't want the camels, donate them to me. I've always wanted 600 camels so I could become a camel rancher. I'd prefer two humps, but one will suffice.

Don't forget that some cities have the poop n' scoop bylaws.

Seriously though, the xmodmap sounds right.

Xmodmap works for X. I'm talking about console here. The keyboard has a canadian french layout, but the accented keys don't work on bash (they do on vim, jed, etc.) That's what I'd like to fix.

maybe you should look at "loadkeys", "keymaps", "showkey" and so on.
