I put together a dual cpu (celeron 366@550s, 256M) machine last night and installed Mandrake 7.2. Things seemed to be running very slowly for this machine and while trying to figure out why, discovered that the swap file didn't seem to have any space allocated to it. I did the "recommended" install and all the drive space looks to be distributed between /dev/hde1 and /dev/hde6. This seem odd to anyone else?
Anything else that could be causing poor performance with this machine?
Also, I am unable to run DrakConf. When I try, it says something like "/usr/X11R6/bin/drakconf" not found. In looking in that directory, I don't see drakconf. I assume this probably should have been installed, but maybe it wasn't. Any ideas?
