I have been dual booting Redhat7 and windows, but I never use the windows anymore and would like to try another linux distro (probably debian). Any issues I should be aware of? LILO will do this no problem?

Yep, no problems AFAIK.

You can share some stuff between the 2 distros (like /home, /tmp and the swap partition), if you like.

Shot, the sharing sounds like something I would want to do. Any links or NHF's on this subject?

Debian here I come...

You don't want Debian, you want http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/cool.gifSlackware http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/cool.gif.

But anyway, yeah. Just put each directory you want to share (but make sure that /root, /bin, and / are all on the same partition) on a separate partition, and mount them like any other filesystem.

klamath beat me to it (about sharing /home and /tmp, etc.). If it's between two similar distros (i.e. Slack and Dragon), you may be able to share /usr as well. /bin needs to be on the root partition, though, as does /root, /boot, /etc, and /lib
