More bad FTP stuff

OK got the ftpd running. Got Apache up. But when ever the webmaster tries to upload the files named " _notes " it stops him dead. These files are auto generated by his HTML Coding software. Anyone know how to let him upload these and all files, even wierd files?
I have:
Drake7.2
Apache1.3
bftpd

Try zipping them up into a something called "weird.zip" That should upload ok. Make sure you upload it as type binary.
