Is it possible to get Gnome to use a different backgground wallpaper for each workspace? It doesn't seem to be an option in Gnome, but I thought there mught be hack or something out there.

AdaHacker 01-06-2003, 06:58 PM Well, the Sawfish Lisp repository (http://www.sics.se/~lofgren/sawmill/repository.html) does have a script in there that says it will do this. I've never tried it out, but it might be worth a shot, assuming you're using Sawfsh as GNOME's window manager. Of course, I don't know how GNOME sets the background, so I have no idea whether or not it will work. Workspace backgrounds were one of the features I really liked about AfterStep. That and the pager. Nothing else seems to have a pager as good as AfterStep's. Oh well, I still love my new ROX with Sawfish, even if the pager does kind of suck. justlinux.com
