Kernel help

[Jeepsta]

When I a "ls" in my /usr/src directory I come up with a directory called linux-2.4.0. Whats up with this? What is it and what is it doing there?

Using Mandrake 7.2 w/ kernel 2.2.17 with a brand new install as of three days ago.
