A lot of people have warned me about problems that come up when you try to install Linux and Win2000 on the same system but I'd still want to have them both (need Win2k for work and want to have my Linux Mandrake 8.0 too..). Does anyone know a fool-proof way of getting these two OS's successfully installed on a new and clean system?

I've installed win2k and mandrake 8.0 on exactly 7 computers, never had a problem.

I've always put win2k on first.

I just installed Mandrake first and then win2k pro so it works either way.

I did it this way becuase of past experience with win9x mbr problems but win2k didn't even touch th mbr so it was a flawless install on both OS'

I have 98/2000 dual booting with 2000 handling the dual boot. Then I have Mandrake 8 installed on the same drive, but I'm not letting LILO or 2000 boot managers handle it. I boot to Linux off a floppy. No problems whatsoever.
