Hi!

I have a setup with Redhat 7.2, Postfix and UW IMAP.

Only got one problem and it is users that check their pop3 account from a remote machine with an personal firewall (like the builtin Windows XP home Edition) has a very long response time (about 60 seconds)

How can it be fixed, my users are getting fed up with this error and it seems that all solutions is related to sendmail, but I want to use postfix (more secure).

It is not possible to put these maschines into my hostfile like many other has suggestedm, because some of the users are dialup customers

Please help me!!!!

The postfix SMTP daemon may be trying to initiate an ident (TCP port 113) connection to the remote machine. Tell it not to or get your firewall to block the outgoing packets and send back an ICMP message.
