I have Mandrake 8.1 installed on my system, and when I try and shutdown, either through KDE or using "shutdown now" from command prompt, the system will hang on dropping eth0. I am using a linksys 10/100 network card revision 2.0. If I use the shutdown fast switch in the shutdown command, I don't have any problems shuting down the system. What gives?

I got a similar prob too w/ a friend's Duron 650. The boot-up stopped when it tried to detect what I believed to be a network card, eth0.
Tried bypassing the eth0 by pressing 'I' for interactive startup, but the prob wouldnt just go away.
If anyone ssems to know the culprit let me know! I fear it must have been the driver for that card, perhaps it needs an update.
