I just purchased a new hp 5550, and i am proud to report that the setup under linux went faster, and was easier to understand than the setup under xp home. although i wish i could delete windows, my family has use for it(or think they do), so i will continue to sneer and cackle as i slap in my linux boot disk and restart!:D

Ever install Win ME?? That was worse IMHO. You have to install your drivers in the proper order or it wont work right. And forget just removing the HD and putting it in another box. I had RH 8 and Win ME on a HD, both installed for my Dell. Took out the drive and put it in another box.. Turned it on, RH went into detect mode and got all the settings and booted. A feat which could not be accomplished by the Win ME partition :rolleyes:.

And it was a spankin new custom built box (by me) - the reason that ME couldnt get all the drivers.
